Tuner

About Tuner

A searchable index of live radio and television streams, and an honest account of which ones a browser can actually play.

Tuner indexes tens of thousands of publicly listed radio stations and television channels and makes them searchable in one place. There is no account, nothing to install, and no charge. It hosts no stream and relays none: play something and your browser connects to that station's own server.

Where the catalogue comes from

The station and channel lists are drawn from public directories — junguler/m3u-radio-music-playlists, radio-browser.info and iptv-org. Each is maintained by volunteers and none of them agree with the others, which is where most of the work here begins.

What this site adds

A list of addresses copied from somewhere else would not be worth publishing. Every entry here is put through the same treatment before it appears:

When streams won't play

The limits above are the browser's, not the stations'. Tuner is a static site with no server of its own, so it cannot proxy around any of them, and it will not pretend an address works when it doesn't — an unplayable stream is labelled with the reason. Every source is included when you export a playlist, whether it plays here or not, because a native player is bound by none of these rules.

Otoha is the companion player for exactly that case.

Keeping it current

The catalogue is rebuilt from the sources and republished as a whole; the Settings page shows the build date of the copy you are looking at. Addresses break constantly, and an entry that worked last month may not work today.
