What we don't collect
Tuner has no accounts, no sign-up and no forms. Nothing you type is sent anywhere: search runs inside your browser against catalogue files it has already downloaded, so what you searched for never reaches this site — or anyone else.
What stays on your device
Four things are kept in your browser's local storage, and none of them are transmitted to us:
- Your favourites.
- What you played recently.
- Whether you dismissed the invitation to add the site to your home screen.
- Whether you were last looking at radio or television.
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of it. Settings → Favourites → Export writes them to a file, and only when you press it. Pages and catalogue files are also cached offline by a service worker so the site keeps working without a connection; Settings → Data → "Clear cache and reload" empties that.
What our host records
https://bbshare.net is a set of static files served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it records the ordinary details of each request — IP address, browser user agent, the file asked for, the time — which are used to serve the site and to deal with abuse.
Measurement
This site uses Google Analytics to count how it is used: which pages are opened, roughly where in the world from, on what kind of device, and whether a visit came from a search or a link. It sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another, and it derives an approximate location from your IP address. It is not told who you are, because this site does not know either — there is no account and nothing here is tied to a name or an address.
What Google does with it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out, and this site works exactly the same with it installed.
Third parties your browser contacts
Using the site means your browser talks to servers that are not ours:
- Station artwork is loaded from wherever the station publishes it, which includes Google's image cache, radioplayer.org, radio.net and many others. Those hosts see your IP address and may set their own cookies. The requests are sent without a referrer, so they are not told which page you were on.
- Playing a stream connects your browser directly to that station's server. Tuner runs no proxy, so that server sees your IP address and can log it under its own policy, not ours.
- Advertising. This site carries Google's ad code. Google and its partners may set and read cookies, and use device identifiers, to select and measure ads. What Google does with data from sites that use it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can review or switch off ad personalisation at My Ad Center, and opt out of third-party vendors more broadly at aboutads.info.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything about them.
